Valentine’s Day: Your Top 10 Alternative Gift Guide

If you follow the roses and chocolate with a complementary teddy bear Valentine’s Day script, you might find your partner scoffing down that heart-shaped box of chocolates you bought — either to compensate for the emotional trauma, or because a sugar rush might be the most exhilarating thing they’ve experienced all day. So in the spirit of not being stabbed with the long-stemmed rose from sheer boredom, we’ve decided to help a brother out with our alternative gift guide. Satisfaction for both partners guaranteed. 1. Roses that Last Click on the image to get your alternative Valentine’s Day goodies. Get piccing now. Some people love flowers. But let’s get this straight. It’s in no way romantic to make your beloved watch the supposed symbol of your undying love decay and die over a week. And then you have to clean the mess, like those guys in the white hazmat suits after they’ve cleared…

Instapicc: Derek Zoolander

Who is the most celebrated male model of all time? Zoolander. Derek Zoolander. And with Zoolander 2 to be released 12 February, Derek has been saturating social media with his publicity stunts. Like his very brief (like, 3 hours brief) relationship with Cara Delevingne on Instagram. So you could say our instapicc is an ode to the height of this gorgeous couple’s encounter. And if Derek Zoolander isn’t your cup of tea? Then you can dere-lick my picc. Click on the image to get Derek Zoolander and Cara Delevingne’s looks. And just in case you missed it (which you shouldn’t have, and if you did, let’s just glaze over that faux pas) here’s the trailer for Zoolander 2. Image source: https://www.instagram.com/zoolander/

Instapicc: Chloe Grace Moretz

We have 5th Wave star, Chloe Grace Moretz, as our instapicc this week, and it’s too adorable. Chloe took this shot with her fluffy little co-star in the new ad campaign for Coach, but enough gushing about pups. Let’s talk about Miss Kick-Ass’, well, kick-ass style, which is quite a feat seeing as she’s still a young lass of only 18. But directors and fashionistas alike have praised Chloe for her maturity and versatility in her roles over the last decade, and her superb style when she’s not taking over the big screen. So the instapicc this week is kinda a no-brainer. And with The Little Mermaid’s production starting in March, we’re sure to be seeing a lot more of the enchanting actress and model. You can’t picc the pooch, but at least you can get Chloe’s look. As far as consolation prizes go, that’s as good as it gets.…

Cherry Picc’d: The Chronicles of Her

We’re kicking off the first cherry picc’d blog of 2016 with quite a cracker. We’d introduce you, but you’re probably already familiar with Australian fashion blogger, Carmen Hamilton, writer of The Chronicles of Her. Is it just us, or do some of the best fashion bloggers come from down-under? Carmen’s style is the food equivalent of a macaroon. Deceptively simple and elegant, but don’t be fooled. This little lass plays with different proportions and cuts of clothing like it’s nothing, while still looking jaw-droppingly put together every time. And did we tell you she has the most beautiful blog? These are some of our top looks. Which would you picc? Click on the image to get this look or something like it. Instapicc: Lena Dunham

With the announcement that season 6 will be the final season of GIRLS, the premiere of season 5 holds a bitter-sweet promise of being one step closer to the end of the thrilling, raw and jarringly relatable characters we just can’t get enough of. “Season 5 is a lot about expanding the characters’ lives. We’re putting them, for the first time, in truly adult circumstances, and learning just how hard that can be,” says Dunham, “They’re starting to spread, as groups of friends do, as they enter their later 20s. It’s no longer four people having brunch every Saturday. It’s people scattered to the wind and trying to stay in touch, and feeling the pain of being separated.” As if we needed any further motivation to stay glued to our screens on 21 February. But until then, celebrate your love of GIRLS with this week’s instapicc from the gorgeous and…

Cherry Picc’d: Zoe Suen

This week’s cherry picc’d blog is Fashiononymous, by the rather wonderful Zoe Suen. If you’re looking for style inspiration that’s easy to replicate, but unique in it’s own right, then Zoe’s your girl. Originally from Hong Kong, but currently studying in London, Zoe uses her blog for creative expression, and creative it is indeed. So take a peek at what Ms Suen has to offer, and prepare to be inspired. We can’t wait to recreate these looks. Which is your top picc? Click on the image to get this look or something like it. Instapicc: Taylor Swift

It’s finally happening … T-Swift is making her first appearance on instapicc, and it’s a beauty. The little lass has been down under on tour, and taking some time off to make some local friends. She’s been seen cuddling koalas, being rebuffed by a kangaroo with Blake Lively, and now in a deep conversation with a cockatoo. Such is the life of a pop legend, but we’re more interested in her gorgeous holiday look than her feathery friend. That’s because we’re spreading the love this holiday by enabling you to instapicc all on your lonesome with our picc button! So if you’re scrolling through your Instagram feed, and you see one of your favorite celebrities rocking a to-die-for item, just click the picc button and you can picc any item your trendy little heart desires! Cherry Picc’d: Man Repeller

Our cherry picc’d blog this week, Man Repeller, headed by Leandra Medine and her team, aka: your new best friends. Man Repeller delves into the complexities of being a women, or really, of just being human. This is a space where creativity, hilarity and intellect reign supreme. It’s a space where you embrace fashion as an expression of self rather than a guide to wearing the latest trends. Where tough topics are breached and embraced (this email conversation about food is a revelation). Where it’s more about a holistic approach to womanhood versus a simplistic summation of one tiny aspect of the female experience. “As a woman, we no longer have to feel like our interests in fashion and other things minimizes our intellect,” Leandra says while interviewing Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner. And we couldn’t agree with her more. Man Repeller is inspiring, engaging and has some of the most authentic content you…

We’re headed to Vancouver for this week’s cherry picc’d blog, To Vogue Or Bust. It’s quite the task, but we think Alexandra is doing a superb job wrangling the latest seasonal trends that can be copied with some essential staples. There are even a few recipes, like this green smoothie (yum!) and travel articles for women traveling solo. So if you need your fashion fix, and some femme adventures, Ms Grant is your girl. Here are some of Alexandra’s looks that we can’t wait to recreate. What are your top piccs? Click on the image to get this look or something like it. Get Piccing now. Photo credit: To Vogue Or Bust. Instapicc: Alicia Keys

It’s time for a scrumptious post-Thanksgiving instapicc for you to enjoy while you dig into yesterday’s leftovers. We couldn’t resist Alicia Keys’ gorgeous post for Thanksgiving, looking quite delicious herself — though we wouldn’t say no to what’s on that plate either. We hope that everyone had a phenomenal Thanksgiving Day. And can we just say that we’re grateful for the talented Ms Keys. All we need now is a new album … cough …. to really get the holiday season going. Please… Alicia… Just a snippet of a ballad? We’ll just take that as a yes then.
